Introducing the DASUD Framework
I came up with the DASUD Framework which has been tested within Retail, Research and Publishing – 3 very different industries, yet a common theme across them all. When you focus on 5 key questions:
- Do you know what minimum data you need to answer your question (Design)
- How can you select good quality data for your needs (Acquire)
- How will you store it safely (Store)
- Use it for it’s intended purpose (Use)
- And Delete it when it’s no longer needed (Delete)?
In it’s last iteration within Research, I was able to launch the framework in under 6 months catering to some very challenging and varying research methodologies.
How DASUD was implemented in Research
The last iteration of DASUD was particularly rough. You needed to understand what the minimum was required to deliver the entier Data Governance Program.
I took the liberty of extracting the bare steps, so this can be implemented in any industry.
